What's On At Our Library

Art at the Library

The Assiniboia & District Arts Council has monthly artwork displays in the Kay Cristo Room by local & surrounding area artists. The Arts Council has a guest book in the Kay Cristo Room for comments.

    Kay Cristo Room

Kay Cristo was the Library Board's active member on the C.I.A. for many years. Kay spent many hours working on C.I.A. and library projects to raise funds for the new library. The Kay Cristo Room has been dedicated in her honour. There is a guest book to sign in the room. Access is through the Library. Various Art exhibits are usually on display in the Kay Cristo Room.

The library in the Prince of Wales Cultural and Recreation Centre, occupies 5000 sq. ft. of the complex, on the south east corner.
Our new library has space for:
    • Study areas for students
    • Computer area
    • Significantly expanded office space to provide adequate work room for staff
    • Kay Cristo Program Room & Art Gallery, measuring 1000 sq. ft.
    • Increased shelving area
    • Wheelchair accessibility within the library
    • Increased storage space

The Assiniboia Civic Improvement Association committee members, which included library and Arts Council members, and many community volunteers worked very hard to raise funds to build our complex. The complex is a benefit to all who live in Assiniboia and surrounding districts.

You can phone the Assiniboia Public Library, which is the Assiniboia Branch of the Palliser Regional Library at 306-642-3631. Our librarian is Nancy Young. Her assistant is Lois Seeley

The library Mailing Address is: Box 940, Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, S0H 0B0, Canada.
